5th Latin American Congress on Peritoneal Neoplasms

About the event
5th Latin American Congress on Peritoneal Neoplasms
The 5th Latin American Congress on Peritoneal Neoplasms marks the fifth edition of a biennial academic meeting that brings together leading specialists in the study and management of peritoneal surface malignancies across Latin America.
Following successful previous editions held in Peru, Brazil, and Chile, the congress will take place for the first time in Colombia, further consolidating its role as a key scientific platform for advancing knowledge in tumor biology, surgical strategies, and intraperitoneal therapies.
The scientific program is designed to address the most pressing challenges in peritoneal disease. Through keynote lectures, expert panels, pre-congress courses, and multidisciplinary discussions, the congress will foster knowledge exchange and the development of collaborative networks throughout the region.
Hosted in the historic city of Cartagena de Indias, the meeting offers a unique environment that blends academic excellence with an inspiring setting for international collaboration and professional engagement.

Message from the President
Dear colleagues and friends,

It is my great honor to welcome you to the 5th Latin American Congress on Peritoneal Neoplasms, a scientific meeting that will bring together leading experts and researchers dedicated to advancing the management of peritoneal malignancies.
Held in conjunction with the II National Congress of Surgical Oncology and the 52nd National Surgical Week of Colombia, this event offers a unique platform for scientific exchange in one of the most dynamic fields of surgical oncology.

We are privileged to welcome distinguished international faculty, whose contributions have shaped the field of cytoreductive surgery and intraperitoneal therapies worldwide. Participants will also have access to two exclusive pre-congress courses: a hands-on cadaver workshop and an advanced surgical video course designed to enhance technical expertise.

We look forward to welcoming you to this exceptional gathering as we continue building partnerships, advancing science, and improving outcomes for patients with peritoneal malignancies.

Colombia awaits you with science, warmth, and hospitality.

The Colombian Peritoneal Surface Malignancy Group was established as a collaborative academic initiative bringing together surgical teams and institutional programs dedicated to the study and treatment of peritoneal neoplasms. These groups have focused on the development and implementation of advanced therapeutic strategies, including cytoreductive surgery (CRS) and intraperitoneal chemotherapy, applied in carefully selected patients within a multidisciplinary framework.
The evolution of this field in Colombia has been progressive and sustained. Since 2007, with the leadership of the Fundación Santa Fe de Bogotá, a pathway of clinical and academic excellence has been established, achieving international recognition. In 2012, the National Cancer Institute further strengthened this effort by consolidating its institutional program, followed by the expansion of additional specialized groups across the country, including Clínica Colombia, Hospital Infantil Universitario de San José 2014, and centers in Medellín, Cali, and Bogotá, such as CTIC and Hospital San Ignacio.
A shared hallmark among these programs has been specialized training, adherence to international standards, and strong multidisciplinary collaboration, positioning Colombia as an emerging leader in the management of peritoneal surface malignancies in Latin America.
